National ADDY in Cinematography for “The Timekeeper”

Once Films was one of the few St. Louis companies to be honored last night at The National American Advertising Federation 2016 awards ceremony in Anaheim, California.

The American Advertising Awards, is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local American Advertising Federation (Ad Club) competitions. The mission of the American Advertising Awards competition is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising. The American Advertising Award, a highly sought after, competitive and coveted award in its industry, represents multiple layers of judging.  Winners compete on local, district and national levels.

Based on local watchmaker and entrepreneur Semyon Ilyashov who fled the once Soviet Union to avoid constant prosecution, our Spotlight Series film “The TimeKeeper” won a National ADDY for Cinematography. His story is one that truly resonates with us, and we are proud to be recognized in the company of talented peers.

For watchmaker Semyon Ilyashov, the more complicated the watch, the greater the challenge. Hard work and a passion for learning all there is to know about watches has lead Semyon to become a master of his craft. In a day and age where true watchmakers are few and far between, we were honored and inspired to have spent time with him behind the counter. More About The Spotlight Series: We feel a kinship with those who let a passion for their work guide their lives. The Spotlight Series is a collection of personal vignettes that feature craftsmen, artists, and entrepreneurs.
